'08 Ford Taurus

Ford has renamed its Five Hundred model to revive the classic Taurus for 2008. The 2008 Ford Taurus has a lot of power and beautiful styling. SEL and Limited models are available with front wheel or 4 wheel drive transmissions.

The 260 horsepower 3.5 liter V6 is the only engine available and the 6 speed automatic is the only transmission available this year.

The safety features of the '08 Taurus are impressive with ABS, traction control, antiskid, and front and curtain side airbags.

Ford has made a DVD system and a navigation system optional. The most popular new feature is the new SYNC system, developed in cooperation with Microsoft, which allows for direct links between the Taurus and your cell phone or MP3 player.

The 2008 Ford Taurus is a four-door sedan that is spacious enough for four adults, yet luxurious enough to take out for a nice evening.

OLD AND IMPROVED

A couple years ago Ford began a real un-success story with the Five Hundred -- so it wisely decided to return to a more familiar branding. The 2008 Ford Taurus brings back the name, along with about, oh, 500 or so changes notched on the drawing board.
First and foremost: The weak 3.0-liter V6 engine has been dropped in favor of a strapping new 3.5-liter, 24-valve V6 engine that whips up 30 percent more passing power. To find out what else is in store for the 2008 Ford Taurus, from hot photos to specs to pricing info, go here. And if you're serious about buying, we've got some helpful pricing intel too.

2008 Ford Taurus

The 2008 Ford Taurus makes its return after a short hiatus and comes back full-swing with a new design and improvements to power and luxury for the first time on the 2008 Ford Taurus.

The engine used is a 3.5L Double-Over-Head-Cam Duratec Cyclone V-6 producing 263HP and 249FTLB of torque. Drivetrain options for the 2008 Ford Taurus come in the form of either a front-wheel-drive platform or the new all-wheel-drive platform.

Gas mileage has been estimated by the EPA to attain 18mpg around the city and 28mpg on the highway for the front-wheel-drive variant while the all-wheel-drive version sumps down a little to 17mpg around the city and 24mpg on the highway.

A 6-speed automatic transmission puts power to the wheels which sit on 113” wheel-base tires for extra traction and control.
